JQuery (In Comparison To Flash)view story

http://designreviver.com JQuery is a framework for JavaScript which was released in 2006. The whole framework was developed by John Resig, an American Resident, Currently working with Mozilla Corporation as a JavaScript Tool Developer. Although there are many other JavaScript frameworks jQuery has been proven best in all the frameworks. The other frameworks like MooTools, Spry, midori, qooxdoo also allow you to manipulate the client side HTML content, but jQuery became very popular among all these because of its flexibility, easy coding standards and ability to deliver robust outcomes. In simple language jQuery makes the tasks done by JavaScripts easy, fast and understanding. One can manipulate css, content, images, HTML attributes and even the server side data by implementation of Ajax with jQuery. (Web Design)

Meta Description and Website Marketingview story

http://forums.digitalpoint.com I'm sure you will all agree that a Meta Description is your tag line and is responsible for your website's final promotion as searchers decide which URL to choose from in the SERPs. Even Google says that 'the quality of your snippet — the short text preview we display for each web result — can have a direct impact on the chances of your site being clicked'. If you cannot decide this yourself, how can you properly market your website? Obviously Google will check the Meta Description first, but what if it does't contain the keywords chosen - it will pick a bit of random paragraph?????? (Web Design)

What’s happening here?view story

http://forums.digitalpoint.com I have a website, targeted to my local community, that seems to bounce between page one and page 5 for no apparent reason. According to Yahoo Site Explorer my competitors are not adding links and my links are growing. I have less content than the competitors but that is growing as well. I have seen the very same thing happen with another site, it bounced between pages 1 and 5 for a few weeks and then seemed to settle on page 4. Any ideas or speculations on what is causing this? As I am primarily using directories for back links right now I can’t help but think that quality of links is part of the problem. Has anyone else seen this? Any thoughts? (Web Design)

Help with Google Danceview story

http://forums.digitalpoint.com Hi guys, A couple of my web pages were ranked in Google SERP (1 web page on 2nd page and 1 on 4th page of Google) for competitive keywords but for the past week or so, they are no where to be found in Google search results. those pages don't even show up in exact on in title searches either. I started building some back links for those pages lately through forum postings, article submissions and blog commenting (before they disappeared). Can any one help me understand if it is Google dance or my web pages are de-indexed by Google permanently? If latter is the case than how can I get them indexed by Google again? Thank you all in advance. (Web Design)

CSS3 Card Trick: A Fun CSS3 Experimentview story

http://sixrevisions.com This tutorial is based on a simple animated experiment that showcases just one of the amazing things you can create using CSS. I’ve used no images and no scripting; everything’s done using HTML and CSS. It goes without saying that since CSS3 is still not supported by all browsers, it might not work as intended; but I’ve coded this in such a way that it will degrade gracefully on non-CSS3 browsers, including IE (of course). Experimenting on cutting-edge standards for the sake of innovation is an attribute that helps us learn, and perhaps by pushing the boundaries, we can improve our knowledge further. (Web Design)

Be Healthy: Simple Exercises for Freelancersview story

http://www.1stwebdesigner.com Sitting in a chair working for most of the day is never healthy. If you’re a freelancer, it means you’re pretty much glued to your chair since there is no getting up and going over to a colleague’s desk to talk about a project, walk to a meeting, elevator or across the street for lunch. Ignoring the fact that gluing your behind to your work place most often than not, piles on the pounds but also leads to something far more unhealthy – inactivity. If you have recurring back aches, stiff neck and creaking joints then your body needs to start moving. Here are a few simple stretching exercises which won’t reduce your weight, but will keep your body active and blood circulating! (Web Design)

Modern UI and Layout Tutorials for Photoshopview story

http://speckyboy.com It would be very hard to find a situation where Photoshop does not have the perfect solution for any web (or print) design problem. With Photoshop you can pretty much design a web page just as you envisaged mentally, with virtually no creative restrictions and with a pixel-perfect result.Web design trends change, and they change regularly. As such, it is very important that a designer stays on top of the game and their UI designs reflect modern design demands. What was design relevant a couple of years will more than likely not be relevant now. It is the web designers responsibility to know what the current design trends are and have the necessary skills and tools to implement them in relation to the project. (Web Design)
